On a glorious may Monday eight pairs of the Richmond park Golf Club Ladies section joined an equal number of Seniors to compete for the annual Arthur Coverdale Memorial Trophy.  The sun shone, the birds sang and there was some really good golf played. The high spot being an eagle three by Gerry Knox.

In the previous two years the Ladies have had the upper hand with Julie Ellis and her partner Hilary Sutton taking the honours. This year was a little different with most of the ladies finding the course a little harder. Fittingly their best partnership was Barbara Coverdale and Carol Marshall, and Chris Whyatt won the prize for the best individual score by a Lady.

The Seniors had a much better day with Bill Gautier winning the individual competition for the best Gentleman. The overall winning pair was Jim Church and Joe Dickerson who finished 5 points clear of their nearest challengers.
