As we are approach the 5th November, please be aware of pets and wildlife if you are igniting fireworks or bonfires.

If you have pets I have seen all sorts of ways of calming down the terrified from playing loud music to buying coats that are supposed to ‘hug’ the pet. I’d like to see anyone trying that on with my very timid cat. Taking liberties usually ends in bloodshed. Not hers. At the very least keep the curtains closed and put the TV on. Best not to let them out in case they flee and please don’t leave them alone. I did hear another idea that trying to comfort them is not a good idea but let them find somewhere they feel safe – under the bed perhaps.

For the sake of the wildlife at least check any fires and if you can move some of the wood so anything hibernating in the bottom layers will be safe.
