On a bright and breezy morning on Monday 30th May, the Ladies of Richmond Park Golf Club ventured onto the golf course to play an 18 hole Stableford competition for both the Granny Cup and, for non or step grannies, the Cherrie Cup.

This was the inaugural playing of the Cherrie Cup competition, the trophy being recently presented to the Ladies Section by this year’s Captain, Cherrie Lawn.

The course was in good condition and some very good scores were achieved. The results of the two competitions were as follows:
Granny Cup – Winner on Countback – Hilary Sutton with 38 points, 2nd place Rosie Sutterby with 38 points and 3rd place Anne Bell with 37 points.

Cherrie Cup – Winner Claire Bambridge with 39 points and second was Sandy McCormack with 35 points.
