As they near the end of the thirty second year since the formation of Richmond Park Senior Section twenty nine members took part in the annual Anniversary Shield on a mild and sunny day. The first group out set some good scores with Treasurer Geoff Tranter in the lead with 35 Stableford points.

The course was in really good condition which was reflected in the later scoring levels. Colin Chapman made 39 , but was quickly overtaken by Glyn Long and Ron Payne who both scored 40 points. However last man out, Jim Church, pictured above, passed them all, managing a very impressive total of 41 points to claim the trophy.

After the golf all competitors sat down to a light lunch of sandwiches, naturally with the crusts cut off, and all agreed that it had been a great day.
