Its behind you!Its behind you!

When a family audience is laughing and screaming “it’s behind you” so loudly that it trips noise level alarms, you know they are having the best time! And that was what happened on Saturday 26th February when Stardust Circus, featuring Watton’s own Alex the Clown, was at The Queens Hall for two packed performances of extraordinary comedy, magic and circus ring skills.

Making the welcome return of live performance after two pretty miserable and bleak years of a global pandemic, Stardust Circus did not disappoint with perfectly pitched comedy from Alex, Rusty and Coco, who at 10 years old is Britain’s Youngest Professional Clown.

Their antics were mixed with the traditional circus skills of Amanda, Alesha and Kevin, the juggler and unicyclist – and how he was able to ride an 8 foot tall unicycle and juggle at the same time was quite incredible.

But the star routine of the show was undoubtedly when a big scary dragon which had broken free locally was menacing the performers on stage who, despite the best efforts of the younger member of the audience to let them know that it was, in fact, behind them, ended up being chased off stage – although your reporter understands that all was well and the big scary dragon was recaptured and returned to its cage without serious injury.

It was an absolute joy to hear the laughter and screams of a crowd of young people again and we can definitely suggest you keep an eye open for circus entertainment returning to Norfolk this year. You will not be disappointed!
