WATTON ROTARY CLUB – PLANT BRITAIN
Watton Rotary Club are involved in the Plant Britain initiative which involves planting a tree for each child who started school in 2020-2021, the programme having been launched on BBC TV Countryfile in 2022.
Our allocation of 420 trees was in 4 varieties – Wild Life, Wild Wood, Year Round Colour and Working Wood – and have all now been planted at local junior schools, St Mary’s Church Watton, and Bullock Park, Shipdham.

The photograph shows the planting at Bullock Park, Shipdham where approx 300 trees were planted by Rotarians, Rotary Friends, Scouts, Shidham residents and parents with children, in only 1 hour.
We have also planted 4000 purple crocus on a new roundabout built on Thetford Rd. Watton for a new housing estate, in only 1/2 hour.
